Deathbed Conversion - The lesson of Tom DeLay's mortal hypocrisy. By William Saletan

I was sent this by a friend. It disgusts me that the "moral" people who want to "help" Terri S. are also seeing her as a political chess piece. I can respect someone trying to save someone's life because they feel that person would want to live. I have little respect for someone trying to literally determine whether someone lives or dies because of the outsider's religious views. Frankly, that religious baggage is their own. If Terri S. made it clear she did not want to live in this state --- which the courts have determined she likely did --- then the beliefs of the church that Terri attended --- or any church --- are moot. Finally, I have no respect for someone using a dying person for political profit. Like the politicians who would use 9/11 to political profit, It is shameful.
